thank you toriyama sensei.
Thank you Toriyama sensei.
Thank you for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, and by extension Super and even GT, as i loved all of these and count them as one. I have a great deal of respect for you, flaws and all. To me you are one of greatest creators of the 20th and 21st century.
dragon ball franchise as a whole was my number 1 anime, cartoon, manga, comic, graphic novel. Tv show. I count every series as one.
Watching ocean dub dragon ball z was in the late 90s was my introduction to anime and later manga, I got into sailor moon, ronin warriors, tenchi muyo, gundam, outlaw star and others soon after. thanks primarily to Toonami. i consider Dragon ball franchise as a whole and its toonami neighbors and other cartoon network shows and animes aired, to all be a family.
You and your editors who helped you along the way, have also shown me that a great mangaka or any other writer and their editors can make a truly splendid story. As well as a mangakas and writers other team members too of course.
Infact, you are why such great manga like one piece, bleach, yu yu hakusho and naruto and so on exist. I feel proud of being a fan of those works and yours, even doctor slump and your one shots that I have been able to read, mean a lot to me.
We never spoke or met, but through your manga volumes i have come to know you, through your short stories about yourself. Bless you sir. I will miss you.
Thank you, for having been you.

wrote something for facebook about my history with anime and journey towards born-again weebdom:
Something weird happened to me over the past year. Like a frog in a pot of increasingly hot water, I found myself way the hell into anime again, and at a level I don’t think I ever had been before.
Anime was always kind of in my periphery, especially with stuff like Pokémon, Dragon Ball Z, and Sailor Moon blowing up in this side of the world. I was a fan of all three as a kid, plus I’d watch the odd show on Toonami and Adult Swim here and there, but I didn’t consider myself much of an anime fan beyond that. Especially not in high school, and if you went to school with “Naruto kids” like I did, you can probably understand why. I didn’t really seek it out.
About 10 years ago I decided to finally see what this Neon Genesis Evangelion business was all about and it rearranged my brain. I had no clue something like that existed before I’d even heard of Pokemon. I had to see what else was out there that I missed. I caught up on shows like Gurren Lagann, Nichijou, and Madoka Magica, and even followed Kill la Kill and the first season of One Punch Man as they were airing. From there, though, I kind of petered out again. I’d watch the occasional Netflix drop here and there, catch up on Jojo, and rewatch the Evangelion movies like they were recurring holidays, but that was kinda it.
Around this time last year, though, I randomly remembered a show that I loved as a preteen, one that I was just as excited to watch alongside DBZ on weekdays after school: Tenchi Muyo. It didn’t really have the lasting impact the other Toonami shows did, but I loved it when it was on (and let’s be real, that many beautiful anime women jam-packed into the same show was something of an awakening for my pubescent self). I decided to seek it out and see if it held up, and it mostly did! I ended up watching most of the franchise, or at least the parts of it that actually involve the main cast.
From there, I found a video essay on YouTube about one of the Tenchi sub-series that absolutely hooked me, and I’d be happy to share it. Anime became something of a YouTube rabbit hole for me, and I was inundated with recommendations for shows I’d either heard about and missed or that left a mark I wasn’t even aware of. Then I decided to finally play Persona 5. Then I decided to see what this Chainsaw Man business was all about. And what else was airing that season. That snowball kept rolling.
By my count, I’ve watched some 38 discrete anime series in the past year and change (plus another three that I started and am in no hurry to finish), and I’ll gladly list them if asked. Granted, anime seasons are short and a handful of them are spinoffs, so the number’s not as crazy as it might look on its face. It’s still a lot, though, and I would actually recommend most of them! I definitely stuck to some niches; I’d say at least half were comedies and there was plenty of action-oriented stuff in there as well. But it’s been really incredible just seeing how far it can reach as a medium to depict just about anything the human brain can conjure up.
Anime fuckin’ rules, y’all.

For the first time ever, the lost interview from the creators of Tenchi Muyo! has been found!
youtube
Original article here
You can watch the Tenchi Muyo! portion with English subtitles above.
For the original, untouched tape, you can watch here. You can also watch on archive.org.
If you’re interested in how and why this was lost, and how we found it, read below!
Part 1: (Space)ships Passing in the Night
It goes without saying that Tenchi Muyo! is a juggernaut franchise. Due to its popularity in the 90s as well as its multiple continuities, if there’s a product of any kind, you can find a Tenchi-branded version of it. From Sega Saturn soap to panty eyeglasses wipes, Tenchi Muyo! has it all. As a result, the phrase “I’ve never seen that before” gets uttered quite a bit when you’re on the hunt for something Tenchi related.
What also happens is that it is easy to miss something that you’re not looking for, because you don’t know it exists or what’s in it. Every time one searches through Japanese auction sites, you’re basically cutting your way through a dense jungle in the hopes of maybe catching a glimpse of what you’re looking for, while also catching glimpses of interesting curiosities, such as this:
PIONEER LDC – “OVA Operation Start” (OVA作戦始動)
This little black box, produced by Pioneer LDC was starting at over 100 USD. Upon closer inspection, you can see that the front pops up, and it has cardboard cutouts of Pioneer’s OVA properties as they were launching in 1992. According to the listing, the box also had a button one could press that would make voice lines play (presumably from each of the franchises featured). Green Legend Ran, Bastard!!, Kishin Corps, and Moldiver are all featured on the sides, but prominently featured in the middle was Pioneer’s bread and butter, the Zeus of their pantheon, their flagship series, Tenchi and Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo!.
For those who don’t remember or don’t happen to know, Pioneer LDC jumped into the world of Original Video Animation (or OVA) in 1992 with these properties (though Moldiver and Kishin Corps, of course would release in February and March of 1993) so this little video was more than likely a cool little showcase of what they had.
At first glance, while it is really cool, it’s not something one would immediately jump at to buy. Especially considering that the contents of the tape were unknown, the description did not offer any insight into it other than where it was from, the working condition of the box button and that it was “Not For Sale.” Which again in Tenchi fandom is not unheard of, nor does it mark something as particularly rare. For a price point so high, I just shrugged it off as a cool curiosity and continued my daily look through of aforementioned auction sites.
Part 2: A Crisis of Revelation
Because of the launch of tenchimuyowiki.com, I’ve been voraciously cataloging every piece of Tenchi media I own and any I can find in an effort to preserve Tenchi history. One night while I was working on one such project, I was looking through images and playing around in Photoshop, ripping Japanese text from images, when I inadvertently clicked the wrong button on an image I was looking at, and it popped over to this image:
This is not only the only known picture of the co-creators of Tenchi Muyo! together, but this is the only known image of Masaki Kajishima’s face. Due to Kajishima’s reclusiveness, he’s never shown his face in interviews, and only very rarely has he even done audio interviews. Everything about the man is kept at a distance from fans. The most high-quality picture of Kajishima that most fans know is from the back of his head.
I stared at the image again for the first time in a while. I’d looked at the first image of the two many times before, but on this particular night my brain clicked the right way, and I said to myself
“Wait a minute, this looks like it’s from a video…”.
If you’ve ever watched old Japanese game shows like Takeshi’s Castle or anything like that, the text is unmistakably made from video of an older time. But even with this idea buzzing around in my head, I was still at a loss. Considering how old this was, it could have been from a news report too, which if that was the case, no way would something like that have survived.
However, I wasn’t going to let this go this time, and I tracked down the source of this image: Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki Otanoshimi Ooemaki.
And there, right next to the image, was text talking about where this was from.
But wait a minute, I recognize that image above it… That’s the characters from the black box!
THAT BLACK BOX HAS THE INTERVIEW!
The title of the tape, translatable as “OVA Operation Start” was a promotional tape that Pioneer made and sent out to pitch their new line of home video products to potential customers. This box and its tape were not for sale, and unless you were lucky enough to be a Japanese Pioneer employee, or a Japanese video store owner, or be in Japan in the early 1990s, you never saw this video or its contents.
With this revelation freshly burned into my brain, I hurriedly moved back to the auction sites.
But it was nowhere to be found.
No, it can’t be…
I quickly inserted the Kanji into Google and found out that the box had finally sold… not even three weeks beforehand. It had been up every single time in the last eight months I’d checked while I was browsing for things, not knowing that the holy grail of Tenchi Muyo! interviews was on it. It even failed to sell on ebay, before finally being bought for around 10,000 yen.
To say I was devastated was an understatement.
Something like that did not come around every day. The odds of it ever showing up again were probably slim to none.
However, I didn’t give up, and then it appeared.
Part 3: Never Tell Me the Odds
After some searching, and with the help of Tenchiforum’s own Crazed, a similarly described VHS tape was found on auction sites. Unlike the black box tape, this one had a very old (but machine-made) label on it. Marked with Pioneer LDC’s logo as well as their signature LaserDisc logo, it had the exact same name with a slightly different description above.
Regardless, if what was on the tape was on the tape, the grail had been found.
And sure enough, that’s exactly what it was!
Curiously, it has a TCR time marker burned into the top of the video, meaning this could have possibly been an internal tape specifically within Pioneer. The seller also had many other promotional videos meant for stores as well. How they got this tape in their possession was not clear, but ultimately, it was the real McCoy.
While reading this, you may be thinking to yourself, “But Dagon, what makes this so rare? Why is this lost?”
Well, for one thing, this video has never appeared on any other release of Tenchi, ever. It is exclusive to these Not For Sale tapes and was not mass-produced in the way the actual episodes of the show were. The circumstances surrounding it also are probably why it never appeared anywhere else. This was made specifically to sell the idea of these properties to people. Also, as mentioned before, Kajishima doesn’t like his face being shown, and Hayashi moved on to El-Hazard after the two split up. Whether it was Kajishima, Hayashi, Pioneer, or a combination of the three, this interview stayed on this tape for 30 years exclusively, and the job it was supposed to do, sell Tenchi Muyo! to the masses, succeeded.

----------------------
at first this was going to be a crossover with Blitzwing, Spinel, Pink-Pearl and Padaparacha...
but then I decided to add more to it, and added some other cartoon and video game characters into it.
also when playing Fallout 4, I really like to use the baseball bat to fight with, so that is why Nora from the Fallout 4 game, is holding a bat and seems to be keeping a eye out for danger...and yeah even if it isn’t canon, in this drawing, Husk has a little crush on Nora...
also Husk has a Cabbit on his head, well the hat he is wearing, and the Cabbit is Ryo-Ohki...
the little robot that is floating above Sundrop & Moondrop’s heads, is Pyoro from Vandread.
in The Cuphead Show, Cuphead & Mugman are twin brothers...
so if those two twins in the show, would that mean they are twin brothers in the canon of the game world of Cuphead...?
Raven from Teen Titans Go, is holding a sign with her magic...
that shows that Teen Titans Go should stop at Season 8...
I hope I can watch Villainous in it’s place someday, I mean even if it is just wishful thinking and hope it does happen one day...
Sallie May x Collin is in this Crossover drawing as well, if they ever got married in a Fanon Timeline, that would make Moxxie and Collin....brother-in-laws.
Lancer is wearing a crown and is holding on to Husk’s wing, it be cute if he ended up calling Husk “Cat-Dad”, like him adopting Husk as his third father figure.
of course when I was first working on this drawing, I had to at some point go to sleep, but then once I did wake back up I went back to working on this drawing.
the geth in this drawing is Legion, and Tali is a much better character once she accepts the geth, and maybe when she finally realizes that the quarians aren’t victims, since they started the mess first, and they were the ones who just assume that the geth would attack first, even if some quarians did try to help the geth and got k*lled for it....
but some of the quarians who fully blame the geth for being driven from their home world, are just being a bunch of shisno.
I wonder what a crossover ship between Caboose from Red Vs Blue and Legion from Mass Effect would be like...?
maybe it be more platonic, and Caboose would view Legion as his best friend, and if Tali ever talked bad about Legion, it could have Caboose tell her off by saying “now Miss Tali, I will have to ask you to stop being a Mean Lady to my best friend Legion....you are being very hurtful, nobody likes a shisno.”
I know there are some fans who 100% love Tali, I just don’t agree with her view on how the geth are the ones who are the “bad guys” when it was some of the quarians who started it in the first place.
I still think the Ralsei that appears in Chapter 2, and might of switched places with the real one when King was about to hurt Kris but was stop by Susie.
both Ralsei are different heights, the original has smaller horns and smaller feet than the one that is in the party in Chapter 2.
it’s my theory and fan headcanon that the Ralsei that went with Kris to the Card Kingdom, is not only trapped in the Card Kingdom but was replaced by the Other-Ralsei, who locked both the Door that takes Kris and their party out of Castle Town to Card Kingdom, and even locked it’s light world counterpart that is in the unused classroom, making sure Susie and Kris wont end up back in the Card Kingdom and find out the Ralsei they befriended is still trapped there.
don’t know if that theory will turn out to be true and fully canon, but if it turns out it isn’t, it can always be used in the fanon.
oh and the Other-Ralsei is using the Green Soul to keep the True-Ralsei trap in a green energy box.
now I’m going to go eat some pizza and watch some Transformers Animated, before I go back to checking out some more fan art on here.

Okay amine,,,well backstory is I quit watching anime when I was a teen bc I watched Chobits and sobbed profusely bc I felt I could never have what they had and that hurt me too much so I put it away for over a decade.
Before that though I was a pretty big fan, I love(d) the 90s animes and have seen a ton of the known dubbed ones and I was very in love with Sailor Moon yes homo and Card Captor Sakura and (endless list of anime girls I've been in love with) into my beloved FLCL.
idk after watching all the Ghiblis in HD half a dozen times I finally caved, I watched an anime a dear friend recommended and I fell in love with it instantly. (I will review it too dw but that's not today's case) and this year I've finally just eased into trying them again.
So what IS today's case? Seasons 1 and 2 of Don't Toy With Me Miss Nagatoro!
YEAH she bullies him, he's into her bullying and jock shit, she's into his demure sheepness and his art nerd shit, they are both actually very lovable and cool people and the plot progress is aggressively constant. The art is lovely too, I'm actually a huge fan of this one!
It's a mixture of modern story heavy progression and classic tenchi-muyu silly edgy semi-lewdity but they're both secretly push overs so it's fun watching them freak out when their games accidentally go the way they were teasing they would.
In truth it's hard to talk about without spoiling because it is just gags inbetween constant story progress which I actually like a lot, it is a romance and it is super heartwarming seeing them both change for the better as they support and push each other to grow. This is what all great warriors strive for imo. 9/10
Art Club President is based, I want to be her when I grow up.

10 Fandsoms 10 characters
tagged by @walkwithursus
Sideshow Bob, The Simpsons. A staple, for sure. I get in and out of the Simpsons fandom often but it's usually Bob who draws me back in. He's elegant, in aesthetics and voice and mannerisms. He has little ways of moving and speaking that are intoxicating. He's also quite complex and sympathetic. He's been ready to murder before and physically abuses people. He's in no way reformed. But his heart is hurting. He really doesn't feel appreciated or seen enough by anyone.
Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman, Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul. I already knew I'd love this character in BB because I love Bob Odenkirk in Tim and Eric. He turned a fairly minor, silly character into one of such depth and complexity. Fun fact: watching Better Call Saul lit a fire under my ass to pursue a law degree myself. Jimmy is very sympathetic but sometimes does things that are beyond cringy (all part of his plan, of course).
Light, Death Note. I just love this character; he's fucking horrible. The book could have gone to anyone, so it's interesting to see it in the hands of this red pilled asshole with a serious god complex. He loves himself for being so smart, but when it really counts...
Ryoko, Tenchi Muyo. I don't remember much from that show, nor much about Ryoko. But I bring her up because she was the first female character I developed a serious crush on.
Zhao Yunlan, Guardian. An excellent show, really fun and filled with characters and concepts. Zhao Yunlan is gorgeous of course but his real draw is his personality. He's technically a cop but at least he works on more supernatural cases and tries to help people. He is smitten with his co-worker from the beginning, and their love story promises to expand over may lifetimes
Villianelle, Killing Eve. Very cute, beautiful, sweet...and deadly. She acts like a typical uncaring killer in the beginning but she begins to unravel as the show goes on. Her obsessive love for Eve is fascinating, makes me hopeful for some consummation, and tragic. What really got to me from her is how deeply sad and empty she in inside no matter what it seems. Her job is assassin and she's expected to do her job well. But in her heart, she doesn't really want this.
Maurice Moss, the IT Crowd. I only just started watching this show, but it's very cute and funny. I don't dislike anyone. Maurice is adorable and his mannerisms and shyness remind me of myself. I can absolutely get that way around people. And I love "nerdy" stuff (esp. in the context of this show, where nerd meant STEM field devotee)
Jimmy Conway, Goodfellas. Definitely a character I think of when I'm writing my Mafia stories. I like that he's a "gent" to some people, esp. those who cooperate. He could be a good partner, till the second you disagree with him or no longer want to play ball.
Rochelle, Left 4 Dead 2. One of my absolute favorite games for years. I miss playing it (my computer can't handle it). She's cute and got a lot of fun voice commands. Of all the survivors I can identify with her and Nick the most (and I ship them). She loves Depeche Mode! She's brave but you can tell she's just hanging on and depends on the team to keep going. She seems defiantly hopeful and determined to reach the objective.
Biff, Back to the Future. At first he just seemed like your typical meatbag villian, and I won't pretend he's much more complex than that. But there's something that draws me to him, maybe seeing his struggles, mostly against himself. Bullies like him are usually compensating for something or are being abused themselves. He already gets treated like shit by the principal, and he's probably used to being figuratively spat on by teachers and other elders. He's loathsome, but I want him?
tagging: anyone who wants to do this!

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Thank you for the tag @fairytales-and-folklore♥️ No pressure tags: @immortalmint @threegoblinart @unniebeans @fenth-eiria @rfswitchart @gakriele-lvs-blog @twogoldenflowers ... it's early so whomever I missed I am sorry!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?: Right now 16!
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 526,571
3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently I am in full TOH brain rot mode. In the past I have written for HP (Ick. I know. I didn't back then.) Tenchi Muyo, Gundam Wing, Princess Bride and Scream. Also in a way Stranger Things. More on that later. (No I will not be posting where my other fics can be found! Sorry!)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Sweet Child O' Mine , Words like Violence , The Future's Overdue, Back to the Beginning where I feel Forgiven. Stranger Tides
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes!!!!! I adore hearing readers thoughts and theories etc. it feeds me and I try to engage with commenters when I can.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I suppose Words like Violence.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Ohhhhhhh! I feel like it was You Strange as Angels -- Maybe it's just me? I swear Sweet Child O' Mine will have a happy ending!
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Meh. A bit? I wouldn't call it hate on current fics. Some folks don't love the direction I go with fave characters -- or the ship I mainly write in. I got hate on some of my older fics but they were posted on a different site. Ao3 seems a bit more tame than other fic sites.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I kinda wish I could? Maybe one day? It would likely be emotional fluff and angst smut.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? OHHHH Yes. And while I won't really mention all of them (again, not revisiting my past writing) Stranger Tides is by far my favorite and my craziest! It's a TOH fic set in the human realm between Kings Tide and Thanks to Them. Basically, the Hexsquad begins watching Stranger Things to pass the time and try to recreate Joyce Byer's Christmas Lights method to contact the Demon Realm. Aspects of TOH and ST begin to blend together for Luz, Vee, and Hunter as they begin bonding as siblings and identifying with the various characters. Lots of great Camila moments too.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of, but I believe I've had headcanons referenced, which is cool!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
YES! One of the fics I wrote under my other alias years ago. It was INSANE when I found out.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yep. Under my other alias.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship? (S)
Just one?
Huntlow, Korrasami, Lumity, Raeda, Aziraphale X Crowley (what's their official ship name?), SkorFuma, BoldenLoin (Not sure id that's Ambrosias and Bal's shit name but it is to me!) McKinley and Ben from Wet Hot American Summer :D
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I am a completist and will finish everything. I do have an idea for a follow up to Sweet Child though, but I can't really think about how that would go until I finish SCOM.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told I am good at portraying emotion and making my writing feel like it's canon?
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I over complicate things. I am a thriller/horror/suspense fan so that's how I roll. I like stories with twists and lots of red herrings.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I try to be as responsible with it as I can. I'm not perfect by any means.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Tenchi Muyo
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
It was Stranger Tides -- but I am still really in love with writing Sweet Child O' Mine .
Thank said, You Strange as Angels makes me giddy.

2. What's your total AO3 word count? 479,814
3. What fandoms do you write for? I've dabbled in quite a few over the years, but the ones I've written the most fics for are doctor who (eleven/amy) teen wolf (sterek) and the owl house (huntlow)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Error 404: Brain Cell Not Found (teen wolf | sterek) You Always Want What You're Running From (sleepy hollow | ichabbie) What To Do When Your Emotionally Constipated Werewolf Boyfriend Gets Cursed By A Witch: A Guide (teen wolf | sterek) Gold Rush (the owl house | huntlow) Lovesick (the owl house | huntlow) 5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I do! Every kind comment means so much to me, so I always take the time to respond to all of them (though I'm not always great at getting to them on time.)
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hmm probably The Courtesan and the Writer (doctor who | eleven/amy) I used to dabble in angst a bit more when I first started writing fic, but these days all my fics are pretty much guaranteed to have a happy ending, because real life is hard enough lol
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Pretty much all my fics have happy endings, but one of the happiest I wrote would probably be my huntlow college AU Until You Meet Someone Who Makes The Fall Feel Like Flying
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I wouldn't call it outright hate, but I have gotten a handful of rude comments over the years (complaining that I don't post often enough, telling me my headcanons are wrong, telling me how they think my story should have ended — one time someone yelled at me in all caps because I said that a character chilled red wine lol that one was wild)
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do! Smut is fun. Mine is typically more focused on the emotional aspect than the physical, is usually the result of a long tension-fueled slow burn buildup, and is usually tooth-rottingly fluffy, soft, and sweet.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I have! Back in the days where superwholock plagued tumblr, I wrote one of the silliest cross-overs imaginable, combining doctor who, torchwood, bbc sherlock, supernatural, the avengers, and sleepy hollow: Lords, Gods, and Madmen
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yup 🙃
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have! But most of them never saw the light of day 😂 one that did is called An Eggcellent Morning For Cooking Lessons co-written with @ash-mcj @tails89 and @nutellarghh
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
I think my top three ships are reflected in who I've written the most fic for: huntlow, sterek, and the eleventh doctor/amy pond
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Luckily, everything that's posted to AO3 is finished, but at this point I'm thinking I'll probably never get around to writing the little nightmares, reylo, and captain swan WIPs I've had sitting in my drafts since 2019
16. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told I capture the characters really well, which means a lot to me. I've also been told that my writing is cozy and comforting and fills people with warm fuzzy feelings, which is always nice to hear 🥰
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I will sit there and agonize over the same paragraph trying to make it sound perfect instead of just letting the writing flow, so sometimes a fic will be in the works for a very long time until it's finally ready to be posted (by which time I'm probably sick of it and never want to look at it again 😂)
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I've dabbled in this a little bit, but it's usually been plot-relevant, like a character learning to speak the language (i.e. when Hunter tried to learn Spanish in Being Human.) When I do write in another language, I always do my best to research and try to get the translations as accurate as possible, and I always include the English translation either in the fic itself or as an author's note so readers don't have to break away from my fic to google anything. (And also so that they know what my intention was, on the off-chance I translated something wrong and accidentally wrote something offensive.) 19. First fandom you wrote for?
Does anyone remember that vampire show that came out back in like 2009? Moonlight? Yeah, that one lol
20. Favourite fic you've ever written? God, that's like asking me to pick my favorite child. Okay fine, it's Until You Meet Someone Who Makes The Fall Feel Like Flying

I'm actually writing this post specifically for @deepwoodenheart because they followed my main and were not a porn blog. Thanks! They've recently expressed an interest in Yuichiro Umehara (a voice actor), and @msyuksanh is his number one fan who is the one who actually introduced me to this specific voice actor. Since I watch a ton of anime (an unhealthy amount), I will be running through some of the stuff I have watched (and some stuff I haven't). Some of these are just to make fun of these anime, but I don't fault any seiyuu for taking a bad role because you do what you need to to make that bread 🍞
His list of roles is big but not as big as some other voice actors, so I was able to go through which ones I had watched or heard of quite quickly. He has made some random appearances in other anime that I've watched where I went "Huh, definitely know this guy from somewhere" like Fire Force, Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun, and Kaguya-sama.
Note: I haven't watched Jojo Part 6 yet or that parody magic anime with the wombat. The anime will go in no specific order, but it generally goes from "good" to "mediocre" to "these anime can go suck cheese" with anything below the "keep reading" being literal trash-tier anime. There's also some missing stuff, especially in terms of idol anime because I haven't watched those and don't plan on it for now. From looking at the cast list, I think his major idol roles are in Magic Kyun, Tsukipro, Ensemble Stars, and Idolmaster SideM (regular Idolmaster is for female idols).
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime
I was talking to a friend of mine recently when we went Christmas shopping, and when he saw this manga he went, "I didn't like that one." I personally did like this one. His complaint was that too much time was given to the secondary love interest. Umehara plays a supporting (but recurring) character.
((This scene still makes me laugh to this day. Kaori Nazuka was really funny here.))
Fruits Basket (remake)
Okay, Umehara admittedly barely shows up in this one, but people should watch Fruits Basket no matter who they are. It's good for the soul. That is all.
((It took me so long to find a fricking gif of this bir-- guy.))
Romantic Killer
Anyone who reads this or anyone who has Netflix should go watch this.
((Kabe-down))
Tenchi Souzou Design-bu
This anime is surprisingly not directly creationism, but it sure comes close! As a biology major, this anime was pretty neat, but some of it made me go, "What am I watching anyway?" I'm not an ecology specialist though, so maybe this makes more sense to others. His character is a supporting character, but he has some funny bits.
((He also gets to rap in this role, so that was kind of funny. My other favourite lines are "Wow, Mercury is dead!" and "WOO! SAIKOU NI COOL!!!"))
SSSS.Dynazenon
This one was not nearly as good as Gridman which was already divisive in the mecha community (that I'm not a part of). I heard from others that it was enjoyable, but I personally thought it was a bit of a bore. Props to the casting director for getting Chika Anzai and her cousin Junya Enoki. There are some subbed radio segments that are funny too.
((Also, this is the first anime I watched where he was cast as an ugly adult. Ain't nobody falling for kinoko hair over here. He has also played a piece of sperm, but I digress.))
Dame x Prince
This anime was built for cringe, and it succeeds at cringe. But because it embraces the cringe, it unironically becomes one of the better anime adaptations of an otome game which is like saying you're the tallest dwarf of the seven dwarfs. It also gave a long-running radio with Kaito Ishikawa and Soma Saito.
Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul
I genuinely remember so little about this anime that I went to go watch clips to refresh my memory, and this anime wasn't even bad. It was mediocre, but for something based off a card game, they did really well. I actually watched this for Sumire Morohoshi and her bubbly character Nina. This is technically a sequel, so you'd need to watch the previous one to fully understand it. Oddly enough, I didn't know the first season was a romance until some characters kissed.
Gakuen Babysitters
This one was essentially built to be a comfort watch. It works at what it wants to do, but I don't like kids. The ending theme is cute, but Nishiyama looked way more into it (Umehara was there to get paid).
Shinchou Yuusha
I personally thought this anime was gonna be a Konosuba, and it kind of was, but it was far more palatable for me (I was not able to make it through Konosuba and will try again at a later date). Aki Toyosaki carries 99% of the comedy in this anime.
((That slime never did anything to youuuuuuu)
Orenchi no Furo Jijou
Fun fact: I watched this before knowing what a shounen ai was! I saw the shounen part and went "Oh, so my demographic" watched it, came out, and went "What. Was. That?!" I don't remember a whole ton about it, but I don't remember it being horrendous. It's just some mermaid in a bathtub. I think this was his debut role, and he does play a main character.
Juuni Taisen
This is probably in a similar boat as Tenkuu Shinpan (later in the list). It's just a bloodbath of an anime, but I will give it credit that it has fanservice for both sides (they sexualize men and women). Anyways, it has a stacked seiyuu cast for something that is so incredibly mediocre.
Tada-kun wa Koi wo Shinai
He had to be replaced partway through due to his acute immune disease. However, I think he recorded it in post-production. Either way, it's a supporting character in an anime that I think wasn't worth the watch besides the banger of an opening. Masayoshi Ohishi has a knack for writing openings for romcoms (he likes romcoms himself).
((He's the glasses guy))
Tenkuu Shinpan
I kinda want to watch this one just to turn off my brain and watch some Battle Royale-style gore.
((That character looks sick.))
Darling in the Franxx
Apparently, you're supposed to watch the first 12 episodes then dip, but come on, when the mechas are built like that, I'm not touching that thing. Even though it has Haruka Tomatsu and one of her most famous characters, I'm not watching it.
((It took me over 100 gifs to find one with Gorou in them despite typing in "Gorou Darling in the Franxx", and he is part of the main cast.))
Goblin Slayer
You know, for such an edgy first episode, this series is so mid at the genre it tries to take on after. Umehara said himself, "He doesn't really say much of importance." This anime has sexual violence (and it's explicit), and it's not even good.
Plunderer
I haven't watched this one, but he does star alongside his bandmate Yoshiki Nakajima. Both of them have been in better anime that is certainly not this one. I even read a chapter or two of the manga when it first started airing and went, "They're really making that, huh?"
((He forgot one streak of hair when dyeing it haha))
Kabuki-bu!
I couldn't make it through three episodes, but maybe I'll try again-- actually, no I won't.
Uchitama
Hmm... I haven't watched this one. It's not hard to see why, but basically, I have not reached that level of degeneracy, and if I do, someone should put me out of my misery.
Senjuushi
Fun fact: This anime is so bad that it has a rating similar to Boku no P-- I'm not finishing that title. I obviously didn't watch this one.
Makura no Danshi
I didn't watch this one, but I saw a video on it and was near tears from laughter and despair because there's no fricking way someone made an anime about this concept AND got Masayoshi Ohishi to write an OP for it. This is the stupidest thing I've seen in a while, and just being close to it made me even more embarrassed that I watch anime. I also listened to Masayoshi's version of the OP before I knew what it was connected to or how to understand some words in Japanese. After learning its association, I was legally obligated to take that song off my playlist.

top five anime
uhhhhhh no order
evangelion
cowboy bebop
nichijou
tenchi muyo (as a franchise but if i have to narrow it down let's say the first three OVAs)
dragon ball z
honorable mentions include FLCL season 1, JJBA, sailor moon, gurren lagann, PMMM, and pokemon right up until around the second movie
i've watched a fucking TON of anime in the past year and will eventually catch up on some major ones i've missed out on (and y'all will kill me with hammers if i name them), so this list is extremely subject to change.
i'm fucking infatuated with kaguya-sama: love is war, but having read the manga i know the story is far from over. it hit a solid stopping point with the movie but if it continues and ends on its own terms it will absolutely make the list
also i literally just finished mob psycho 100 a couple days ago so that needs some time to percolate, but give it a few years and it'll probably make the list as well

I forgot what I was calling the series on zanpakutou names...
...but this one’s been sitting in drafts for a while.
Yamamoto[山本]: Mountain + Root, meaning the “Foot of [a] mountain”
Genryuusai[元柳斎]: BeginningTime/Original + WillowTree + Holy/Pure
Shigekuni[重國]: Chief/Main/Important + Country/Nation
“Ancient Holy Willow, from the Mountain base, of the Chief Nation”
I did this once before going over character names specifically, but I figured it was worth repeating: The personal name Genryuusai is a direct play on his character design; the old kungfu master style eyebrows mirroring the hanging leaves of a weeping willow. The family name is straight forward and locational, but combined with the given name paints a little picture of a tree at the foot of a mountain.
And the 3rd name(?) seems to be like an epithet more than a name; he is Yamamoto Genryuusai “of the Chief Nation,” presumably referring to Soul Society itself as said nation. This becomes more meaningful once we learn that he is the leader of the original Gotei 13, before they were a military organization, and when they were just a gang of 13 powerful shinigami. It seems to imply that he’s not just a chief representative of Soul Society, he’s so named because he helped found Soul Society.
Ryuujin[流刃]: School/Style/Way + Sword
Jyakka[若火]: Young/New/Premature + Fire
“Sword Style, Young Fire“
The irony of course being that Yamamoto is old as dirt, but his sword -the reflection of his innermost self- is explicitly youthful.
And then there’s his bankai,
Zanka no Tachi[残火の太刀]: Remain(s) + Fire + Thick + Sword
Zanka[残火]: “Embers”
Tachi[太刀]: a “tachi” is a specific kind of sword, often compared to the western Long Sword
“Tachi of [the] Ember(s)”
Most Bankai don’t really change names, they add extra titles to the shikai name. But a few have wordplay that break that trend, and this is one of them...
Yamamoto’s here swaps “young fire” for “fire remains,” jumping from the start point of a fire to the end point of one. The only shared kanji being ka[火] for “fire.” It also changes out the “sword style” as subject, for a singular sword. Although, chi[刀] is the same root kanji in [刃] meaning “sword”/”blade” which was an obviously intentional choice to further the parallel between names. But because they’re pronounced totally differently, without the kanji present, it doesn’t come across in an English translation at all.
Higashi, Kyokujitsujin["東": 旭日刃]: “East,” RisingSun + Blade
[旭日]: Rising + Sun, not that this translates any differently, but it is the term for THE Japanese Rising Sun symbol, and not just the literal two words in proximity. So while there's the obvious "sun rise" and "East" tied together, it's also got a distinct nationalist flare to it.
“Rising Sun Blade”
This one’s really pretty straight forward, but it plays into the overarching theme...
Nishi, Zanjitsu Gokui["西": 残日獄衣]: “West,” Remainder + Day + PrisonUniform
Gokui[獄衣]: Prison/Jail + Clothes, the term for a “Prison Uniform”
“[The] Day(s) that are Left Prison Uniform”
For some baffling reason the Viz translation for this was “Sunset Hell Robe” which is just wildly off base. This seems evocative of prisoner watching the sun fall on the last day of a sentence; but whether that’s the last day before release or the last day before execution, isn't by itself clear. Given the rest of the names here, though, I assume execution.
I actually feel like this is a scene from an old jidaigeki film but I can’t remember which... (it was the plot of an episode of Samurai Champloo, and a random plot for a dungeon in Wild Arms 5, so it might just be a general trope, but I’m positive there’s a singular core film it references. Is it Hashire! Melos I’m thinking of? I thought I remembered it being a Japanese period piece though...)
Minami, Kaka Juumanokushi Daisoujin["南": 火火十万億死大葬陣]: “South,” FireSquad + TenTrillion + Death(s) + Big + Funeral + Formation/(military)Camp
English translation Viz went with was “Trillion Flame Great Corpse Formation” which, I can sort of see the logic in trying to make sense of an otherwise really tricky collection of kanji, but is once again pretty far off base...
So, I was super confused by why he’d used the construction kaka[火火] which is just “fire” twice, when A) that’s not any kind of a special compound word, and B) [炎] is the kanji for “blaze”/”flame” and the attack name was written vertically, which seems to clearly be a kind of word play here, but I couldn’t figure out what the other side of it was. But I think I figured it out...
The Ritsuryou was the Chinese influenced law system in Japan during the 700s, and it borrowed a lot of Confucian bureaucratic systems, which included elaborate systems of measurement for uniform inventory of people and assets, many of which are no longer in use. One such unit of measurement is a ka[火] which is a military squad consisting of 10 soldiers, and is in fact a homonym with ka[火] which just means “fire.”
kaka[火火]: Fire + (military)Squad
Juu-mon-oku-shi[十万億]: 10 + 10thousand + 100million, which is 10,000,000,000,000(ten trillion)
Another little aside, but Japanese has different major units than English does. juu[十]:10, hyaku[百]:100, chi[千]: 1,000 all line up with English pretty simply in multiples of 10, but then mon[万]: 10,000 has its own designation rather than the compound of "ten + thousand;"
What we call "hundred thousand(s) are written juu-mon[十万]: "10 × 10,000"; and "million" is actually a compound, written as hyaku-mon[百万]: "100 × 10,000" instead of getting its own unit;
oku[億]: is the unit for "100,000,000"/"hundred million(s)" like it's being used here; and then there is also chou[兆]: "10,000,000,000,000"/"ten trillion" which Kubo seems to have avoided using (probably just for the sake of sounding more dramatic) and kyou[京]: "10,000,000,000,000,000"/"ten quadrillion."
“Fire Squad, TenTrillion Deaths, Big Funeral Formation”
So, to be clear... (military)Formation is the core subject here.
Who’s in formation? The Fire Squad
What kind of formation? Funeral formation
What kind of Funeral? Big
How Big? 10 trillion
A military squad equipped with fire starting weapons, carrying out a mass military burial, of ten trillion corpses; all of which is pretty literally reflected in how it raises a bunch of skeletons of dead warriors. That is just a preposterously high death toll though, and it honestly reminds me of the stupid meme shirt, "BORN TO DIE, WORLD IS A FUCK... 410,757,864,530 DEAD COPS."
I do want to clarify that [葬] means "funeral"/"entombment"/"burial"/”interment” etc... and is explicitly about the dead and frequently (although not exclusively) about whole body burial... I am super confused why the biggest bestest most powerful fire sword doesn't seem to CREMATE people...
but I also want to clarify that together [葬陣] does NOT refer to something like a "concentration camp." Also "interment" as in to put a body in the ground, is not the same word as "internment..." The Japanese words for something like an internment camp, or specifically the Nazi concentration camps are [捕虜収容所]: "Prisoner of war housing site" and [強制収容所]: "Forced housing site" respectively.
Kita, Tenchi Kaijin["北": 天地灰尽]: "North,” The World/Universe + Ash + Last day of the month/End
Tenchi[天地]: Heaven + Earth, very literally “Heaven & Earth” but in that it refers to “all creation” or “the whole world” or “the universe.“
I'm assuming this uses [尽] to mean "Last Day..." because of the rest of the names' theme of the passing of time.
“The Last Day... The World is Ash“
“The World Reduced to Ashes” was the Viz translation, which at least has the same general imagery as the intended meaning, but it misses the specificity of “The Last Day” and how that plays into the cycle from East to West, South to North in the different forms. Also, in English it’s a little clunky, but I feel like it evokes two phrases, “The (Whole) World [is] Ash” and “[Your] Last Day [on] Earth” simultaneously. The whole thing has a distinctly apocalyptic tone to it.
So, his bankai starts at dawn, gets to sundown of the final day, he's brought out to the execution/burial grounds, and then all that's left in the end is ash. It tells a neat little story, and Kubo clearly had to fiddle with this for a while to get some of these names to come out right, so that's neat to see at work. It's a shame this fight was so anti-climactic.

I have many gripes about Tenchi Muyo, but the first episode was not only good as a one-shot story, it and the eventual flashbacks to events before the first episode give one answer to this question.
Ryoko is a terrifyingly powerful demon-woman who laid waste to the capital planet and military fleet of the galaxy’s only super-power. The crown prince managed to either lure or drive her away and then defeat her by sealing her on Earth, but then he presumably died.
While there might be other superhuman men in the universe to find, if she were interested, and possibly some that might also be dangerous enough to count as her equal, she can’t exactly go looking for them.
Instead, she ends up noticing this cute little baby boy that a woman brings each year to the shrine, especially because the baby seems to look right at her and smile. She watches him grow up every summer, always returning to her shrine, and he can’t actually see her but he feels her watching him. She watches as he cries his heart out after his mother dies.
His grandfather holds the only key to her shrine, and holds it hostage against the boy’s martial arts training. She watches the boy fight as hard as possible to steal the key so that he can finally enter the shrine and see the demon he’s heard so much (but actually so little) about.
Then one day, he succeeds in stealing the key without his grandfather seeming to realize it, and he enters the shrine and accidentally breaks the seal.
Overjoyed, Ryoko rises from her grave to embrace the boy she’s come to love.
Unbeknownst to her, time has not been kind to her body. The funeral mask mercifully hides her face (except for her eerily glowing eyes), but her body is clearly emaciated, her long nails look like claws, she can’t speak except to moan, she’s reaching for him like she wants to eat him (actually kiss him), and the holy object that sealed her strikes her back like it’s trying to protect the young man from a threat.
So he screams and runs away, tries to shut the shrine behind him, and leaves the mountain wilderness to return to his city home.
And Ryoko is PISSED.
So she gets free, waits for her body to recover and rebeautify, tracks Tenchi down, and attacks him when she catches him alone at school.
She doesn’t actually want to kill him, but she wants to terrorize him. She chases him all over, constantly missing with sword slashes that slice through concrete and laser blasts that destroy entire classrooms.
Tenchi’s a superhuman martial artist who knows how to use a sword, and he has the holy key-sword, but he’s never been in a real fight before and Ryoko’s a one-woman army. Eventually the holy sword has to wake up and start fighting FOR Tenchi, and cuts off one of Ryoko’s hands, which contained a special organ that gave her much of her power.
Ryoko regenerates the lost hand instantly, but not the organ, and just like that she decides that this isn’t fun or meaningful anymore. She smiles, gives up, and disappears.
Tenchi thinks he’s finally free, until he gets back home and finds her in his own bed, sleeping defenselessly and provocatively. Making it wordlessly clear that she’s NEVER going away, and she wants him intimately.
The only thing he can do at the end of that first episode is clap his hands together in a prayer to the Heavens for salvation.
What would a monster-woman want in a man?
A woman is a werewolf (wifwolf), the most terrifying oni in the land, the dragon-queen... She cannot find a man stronger than her.
When Tatsumaki doesn't find a Saitama, when Hippolyta doesn't find a Herakles, when Wonder Woman doesn't find a Superman...
What does a woman find attractive in men when she can snap any men between her fingers like twigs?
What drives her to snatch a SPECIFIC man up and carry him off to her lair, the way that Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach?
Bowsette is already the queen of her own kingdom. Is she kidnapping Prince Peach for his money? I don't think that would be enough for her to say, "I want to take him home, break his hips, and have his babies."

Hiii! Umm I'm not sure where we make requests but could you write one where Hawks' spouse was a Pro Hero with an Earth/Plant Manipulation Quirk but they retired to take care of their kid. But now the Commission is asking them to come back for an important mission ???
Thank you! I love your writing 🥺
This is the perfect place to ask for requests Love! This is so precious and I’m so glad you love my writing I’m honored ahhh ❤️
The kid is mentioned as having features both from reader and Hawks but I made this request otherwise gender neutral so just assume that regardless of parental gender there’s a way to get kids that are both of theirs genetically
Tenchi is every bit his father’s son. He may have your hair and when the time comes your quirk, scarlet wings being notably absent when he was born, but his eyes, the markings around them, and his personality even at just three years old are all Keigo. Keeping up with him is a full time job, which is precisely why you decided to retire after his birth. Sure your husband had felt guilty at first that you’d sacrificed work for your burgeoning family but you’ve told him enough times now that you don’t regret your choice for a second that he’s let it go. In all honesty you’ve been enjoying your retirement. Watching Tenchi grow up has brought you such genuine joy and with each passing day you’re only further amazed by the small human you and Keigo have managed to produce.
You’re in the middle of making a flower twist and dance around your giggling toddler when you get the call. A quick check of the caller ID has you rolling your eyes as you answer. “Whatever it is, the answer’s no,” you huff. “Japan needs you,” the commission member on the other side of the line says gruffly. “No, my son needs me, you all want me. There’s an important distinction,” you reply. “One mission, that’s all we’re asking for,” the man sighs. “No, get someone else to do it.” “There is literally no one else who can do it.”
“You’re kidding…”
“I wish I was.”
You sigh heavily down the line.
“One last mission then I mean it, don’t call me again.”
“Gladly.”
Hawks is the only reason you don’t quit the mission. You’ve always loved working with him, it’s how the two of you first met, and he keeps you from yelling too much at the people working with you both when you’re feeling particularly cranky at being separated from your child. Tenchi stays with your parents in the meantime and you and Hawks FaceTime him every night after working. You miss your bundle of joy but seeing the way his little golden eyes light up when you and Keigo’s faces appear on screen makes your heart absolutely melt.
It takes a week to resolve the incident and you’ve never been happier to see the Fukuoka train station in your life than when Keigo gently shakes you awake with a fond smile to let you know you’ve returned home. As you step off the train your eyes search the crowd until you see a familiar little body clinging to the pants leg of one of your parents. Tenchi spots you and Keigo about the same time you spot him and instantly he’s rushing forward with the sort of recklessness only children possess. It doesn’t matter though because you’re running forward to meet him, grasping hold and lifting him into the air and into your arms the minute you reach him. Keigo isn’t far behind, wrapping you and Tenchi both in his arms and his wings to keep out the invasive flashing of the paparazzi’s cameras. “You get the bad guys?” Tenchi asks with big, excited eyes, looking between you and Keigo. “Of course, Mommy kicked bad guy butt,” Keigo grins, throwing you a wink. “I wan’ go next time,” the little boy pouts and you can’t help but chuckle. “Tell you what when you’re big and strong Daddy and I will take you to fight bad guys with us. Ok?” you offer. “Ok!” Tenchi beams, sunny disposition immediately returning in full force.
Later that night when you and Keigo are laying in bed, Tenchi fast asleep between the two of you, he turns his curious gaze on you, watching as you smooth the hair over your son’s head. “Do you think you’ll take another one?” Keigo asks quietly so as not to wake up your sleeping child. “Hm?” “Do you think you’ll take another mission?”
You think it over for a moment but then shake your head, a small loving smile stretching your lips.
“I’ve already got a mission right here.”
“It is a pretty great one, I’ll give you that.”
“Yea and my partner on it isn’t so bad either.”
“You sure about that? I hear he’s pretty absent.”
You stop and look at him, his smile having gone sad as he continues to stare at Tenchi, guilt obvious in his golden irises. “Hey, look at me,” you tell him. It takes a moment but eventually he does. “You’re an incredible hero but you’re an even better father. You try so hard to be there for Tenchi and he and I both know that. So I don’t want to hear it alright?” you insist. “Alright,” Keigo huffs, lips twitching up into a rueful smile. “Hey I mean it. I don’t want to hear you doubting yourself Kei. You’re an amazing dad. Got it?”
“Got it.”
“Good. I love you pretty bird.”
“And I, you Dove.”

Naruto Manga Part 2
Part 3
Kishimoto finally decides to show the new Team 8. Naruto has a pretty hard time to recognize Shino. Makes sense he didn’t spend much time with him and he always hides his face. Altough he did acknowledge that Shino was strong when they gathered members for the Sasuke Retrieval Mission.
Naruto did recognize Kiba faster than Shino. He was on the Sasuke Retrieval Mission and he fought him in the chunnin exams. Altough he wasn’t 100% certain.
Look at Naruto’s face. He’s like ”Was that.... Hinata?”. He got sparkly eyes too its like he wants to see her right away. He completly ignored the guys he was talking to aswell lol.
Hinata hasn’t seen Naruto in 3 years. She is shy and nervous about what she’s gonna say to him. Naruto interrupts her thoughts and comes right up to her face. This causes her to faint. By the way this is the only time in the manga that she faints, so yeah.
But look at that Naruto easily recognized her right away. He’s even interested in why she’s hiding and falling over. Ironic since she basically does those things because she is in love with him. He got sparks in his eyes symbolising that he remember their moment in the chunnin exams. I’d actually argue that it was during the chunnin exams where Naruto developed feelings for her. You know when Naruto thought Hinata was incredible, made a blood vow for her, said he really liked people like her(which is lowkey like a mini confession) and him wanting Hinata to watch him beat Neji for her more than the village acknowledging him. I honestly think Naruto was too immature to understand his feelings. What im saying is that Naruto was already in love with her subconsiously.
We move forward to the new Team 7 mission to the Tenchi bridge. Sai is *spitting some facts* saying some stuff about Sasuke that makes Naruto mad. Like in their fight, he said that Sasuke was his goal, his idol. He was everything he wanted to be. But he chose to make Sasuke his rival because he didn't wanna lose to him. Just quoting this out Naruto’s ”crush” on Sakura basically exists because of this.
Oh look at that Sakura is reasonable and understanding. I guess even doe she loves Sasuke she’s still mature and considerate towards someone that doesn’t know the full story behind the former Team 7 dynamics. That’s so nice i am so glad she has developed as a character and changed for the better.
(Obvious sarcasm btw)
Oh ok then. Nevermind i guess she’s still a punchy bitch. Ok im gonna try not to shit on Sakura to much but when she does something, well, QuStIonAbLe, i’ll just point it out.
Honestly i dont think Sai deserved to be treated that way by Sakura especially since he was telling the truth. She’s talking like she knew him on this deep level when in reality they were all just forced to be put on the same team. Also look at Naruto’s face. He’s making this f*cking poker face probably thinking something like ”i know Sai is a jerk but that was some psycho shit”. No but in reality he’s afraid of her and that she’s gonna punch him like that to if he gets on her nerves. Again defiantly not a positive thing narusakus.
Again look at Naruto’s face. He is terrified of what Sakura would do to him if she found out he was peeking. Naruto clearly doesn’t think of Sakura’s strength as a positive thing and its understandable since he is always the victim of her abuse.
Here is the links to the previous parts if you’ve missed them.

Bad Apple
https://archiveofourown.org/works/37527961
Summary: Just some pointless Xander and Anya fluff, where they watch the anime "Tenchi Universe" together... and are VERY much like the characters Tenchi and Ryoko from it, except that they don't realize it. LOL
“Why are we watching this weird… Japanese animation?” Anya asked, chancing a glance Xander’s way, while the two of them sat in his apartment: an apartment he was damn proud to have bought for this girlfriend of his.
And at first, as she said this, Xander had thought that Anya was about to say she found something wrong with anime—and he would have to chip in and tell her why that was maybe a bit racist, and why he found the shows rather entertaining—but before he could even get a word in edge wise, the demon was speaking a mile a minute, with a ramble that would have made both Buffy and Willow proud, he thought.
“I mean, yes, I know the large eyes in the style of animation here was influenced by Walt Disney’s own art, which is charming. Because clearly, he knew what he was doing. And anime stories can be very interesting and even quite adult, I’ve heard, which is definitely a breath of fresh air over having to watch cartoons with you, let me tell you… but why must we watch this when we could be doing more pleasurable things? Like having sex?”
And Xander didn’t miss the way that Anya had somewhat crawled into his lap with her last comment, so that her chest was pressing against his own in a very nice manner. And now- and now her lips were getting closer to his own, as she also tried to sink down lower onto him to-
Suddenly, Xander knew that he had to get away from his girlfriend before she ruined this very good idea and evening he’d had planned, so he headed back to the kitchen with a large bowl to get some popcorn.
He didn’t miss the irritated “hmph!” that Anya threw his way when he did so, though.
When he came back—with his head clearer and a bowl of buttery deliciousness in hand, that he gave back to his girlfriend—Xander tried to plead his case, as he stood beside the VCR and then pointed at the screen.
“C’mon, An! Tenchi’s a classic! It’s a really funny harem anime, that I think you’ll enjoy! An if, for whatever reason, that gets boring for you, the girls are from outer space with crazy powers, and there are some interesting plots with epic sword fights and stuff… it’s just really a lot of fun. Trust me.”
“Well, I suppose it doesn’t sound terrible,” Anya allowed, snuggling into Xander the moment he came to sit beside her again, and leaning her head on his shoulder. “But I still don’t really get why we’re watching it.”
“Because—and dear God, I can’t believe I’m about to say this. If you ever try to blackmail me with it, I’ll plead the fifth—we can’t have sex all the time. We should- we should prove to the others that we can have stimulating conversations about things… And since I don’t see either of us reading a book any time soon, I think this will have to do.”
“I suppose you’re right,” Anya whined. And then she surprised Xander completely by leaning towards him to kiss him on the cheek. “And you’re cute when you try new things. And speaking of cute… Everyone in this is easy on the eyes, in a stylistic way. So at least there’s that.”
And having said pretty much all they could say at that point, without having watched the show (Anya had never seen it before, and Xander hadn’t seen it since he was a child), the two quieted down and watched the episode. It seemed to be one mainly centered around the main “heartthrob”, Tenchi (who was really just your Average Joe with a heart of gold), and the space pirate Ryoko…
It seemed like he was breaking her heart, though, in choosing to go back to reality over the fantasy world she’d created for them, that she’d sucked their entire group into.
But in the end… In the end, Tenchi was offering Ryoko an olive branch—even over his other potential love interests—by throwing an apple to her (even though she’d been selfish to get them to the fantasy world in the first place, and usually drove him crazy, apparently). And the two of them just shared a nice, comfortable silence with each other, as they snacked on their own fruits.
It didn’t take a genius to see that the writers were hinting that there was a possibility for them still, but one steeped in reality, Xander thought… And all of this coming from someone who failed English on a regular basis.
“Except I can’t figure out why the show didn’t mention that she was a demon,” Xander complained now, with his hands crossed over his chest, as he sat up on the couch. “I remember it vividly from the first season of the anime. And it was one of the coolest things about it. So you’d think they would have said it here, for anyone too lazy to tune in at the same Bat Time and same Bat Channel. But no dice. How lame is that?”
Okay… maybe Xander had gotten a little worked up there. Though he honestly had expected Anya to agree with him. But looking at her out of the corner of his eye, Xander could tell that she… did not. And did not care about the issue at all.
Anya just slurped on the apple slush that she’d gotten from the ice cream shop with him earlier and shrugged. “I actually get annoyed when people tell me the same thing over and over again. So, if I’d been a regular viewer of this, I would have been irritated if they’d done something like that, so it’s no skin off my nose.”
Man, there were sometimes that Anya really annoyed Xander… but looking into her lovely brown eyes, that almost seemed to be smiling at him, as they locked onto him again, he just couldn’t help loving her, anyway.
“Hey, do you mind if I have a sip of that?” Xander ventured now, pointing at her slush upon feeling suddenly parched. “After all, if I drink from it after you do, it’s an indirect kiss and all.”
“Sure!” Anya chirped, seeming much more alive than she had since they’d started this whole “movie marathon”, even though Xander did think she’d liked “Tenchi”; and he knew they now had something to watch when they wanted to feel better about themselves and act like they did more than makeout and have sex with each other. “And then when you’re done with that, we can get to direct kisses and more, since we came, we saw, we conquered.”
And he’d never been so glad to have compromised with someone in his life.

Greenie’s Year-End Media Reviews
Thought I’d do something new this year and talk about all of the media I enjoyed in 2021. If you want my take on stuff or would like recommendations if you have similar tastes as me then click below the break! I’m a nerd so it’s just like... anime and games haha.
Nothing is in any particular order, it’s just as I remember things.
Anime I Watched in 2021
(keep in mind I watch anime with subtitles so if the dubs of any of these are bad I wouldn’t know, haha)
The “Watch ODDTAXI Award”- ODDTAXI Please watch ODDTAXI it’s so good, haha.
This is a mystery anime! The main character is Odokawa, a taxi driver who interacts with a large and colorful cast of characters through driving them around the city. The hanging question throughout the show is “what happened to the missing girl,” though each episode presents new questions while answering others. It’s one of those shows where I can’t say much more about it because it would ruin the fun.
I watched this show as it was airing and every single week I kept saying “oh crap” and “oh god no why did it have to end like that” because I was so invested in the story. You might be able to figure out what “the deal” is before it’s revealed, but there were a lot of story bits that caught me off guard.
If you do give this show a try, I’d recommend reading the radio play translations over on the Wiki, since they ran together and the radio play reveals a bit more than what was in the show itself.
Tenchi Souzou Design-bu/Heaven’s Design Team
This is a great comedic anime that both animal lovers and artists can relate to (all those commission revisions), and it’s actually fairly educational, providing reasoning as to why different mythical creatures can’t exist and why stranger animals look the way they do. Want to know why owls have weird skeletons? This anime answers that and more.
The designers themselves are also really great and I love them all! My favorite character is probably Venus.
Inu to Neko/With a Dog AND a Cat, Every Day is Fun!
A series of shorts featuring the author of the manga living with her sweet dog and grumpy cat. If you need a little something cute to cheer yourself up, this show is perfect for that (assuming you like animals, of course). The contrast between the excitable, friendly Inu and irritable, sneaky Neko is great. Check out the manga too; the anime barely made a dent in adapting it.
I have a plush of Inu-chan and he’s adorable haha
Eden
An anime that takes place in the far future where the world is solely inhabited by robots rather than people. Easiest way to summarize the jist of this anime is “Wall-E but instead of a plant they find a human girl out of cryosleep.”
The plot can be kind of predictable (I guessed the twist reveal, for one) but it still emotionally destroyed me and I will admit that I cried multiple times. :’) Crazy-Uncle Robot is the best.
Digimon Ghost Game (in-progress)
This one is still in the early-stages of airing, but so far I’m really enjoying this season. For those familiar with older seasons of Digimon, I’d compare this one to a lite version of Tamers mixed with a bit of Appmon, as it has that “real world drama” combined with (so far at least) a “monster-of-the-week” type of story that focuses on how different Digimon cause problems for the people of the city.
I like all of the main cast so far (barring Jellymon; I just don’t care for her personality and Kiyoshiro is my favorite and she is just so mean to him haha). Gammamon is very adorable for a lead Digimon and his interactions with Hiro are so cute and it is going to destroy me when this series ends, knowing this franchise’s track record.
These aren’t from 2021 but I watched them in 2021-
Gyaru to Kyouryuu/Gal and Dino
Dino is one of the greatest characters of this generation and he is just so precious and funny and must be appreciated.
In all seriousness, this anime is completely weird, which isn’t a bad thing. There are segments of the show that are in a traditional anime style, web-video-themed bits that feature Dino attempting to do something simple, live action segments that are totally bizarre at times, and even little minigames like “spot Dino.”
This is a slice-of-life anime about a fashionable girl and a mute dinosaur living together, and the overall vibe of the show is just relaxing. If you need to chill out after a day at work or school, hang out with Kaede and Dino and friends. The ending theme is even vaporwave-y, how chill can you get?
Doukyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue/My Roommate is a Cat
A man adopts a cat while visiting his parents’ grave. Ripping your heart out and driving over it with a big rig ensues.
The best way I can describe this anime is very cathartic? If you need a good cry this is a great anime for that. By the time I was done I was a wreck :’)
DISCLAIMER: THE CAT IS OKAY, REPEAT, SHE IS OKAY
Houkago Saikoro Club/After-School Dice Club
I loved this anime! It’s a bit formulaic and very much “cute girls doing cute things,” but as someone who’s always been interested in board/card games it was very interesting learning about all of the different games they played in each episode. You’ll want to check all of the games out yourself!
I relate to Miki way too much, haha.
Houkago Teibou Nisshi/Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater
Another school club anime, but instead of playing games, they’re going fishing! Again, made me want to try out fishing by the time I was done with it, haha.
Only problem I had with this one was their mentor/teacher, she’s... not the best role model for these poor girls.
Eh-
Digimon Adventure: (2020)
It’s... ok. And by ok I mean the only thing I really liked about this series was all of the monster-fanservice where they featured Digimon who have never made an anime appearance before (such as the new Pendulum guys). It’s very much “baby’s first Digimon anime” because everyone’s personalities are so flat and the stakes are incredibly low compared to previous seasons. I am really hoping that Ghost Game turns out much better, and so far it looks like it might be.
Games I Played in 2021-
The “Remastered My Childhood” Award- New Pokemon Snap!
For a sequel to a game that came out ages ago, NPS is amazing. It improves on the original in every possible way. There’s so much to do (so much to see, so what’s-), the ways the different Pokemon interact with each other is so cute/cool to see, getting the 4-star photos for everything is VERY difficult at times (looking at you, Minior and Jolteon/Joltik) and as icing on the cake, there was free DLC too?? I can see myself coming back to play this when I need a slightly more meaty experience than the original (which I still love, but it’s 100% beatable in one sitting for me after I’ve played it so many times haha).
Did you know that there’s a cameo referencing this game in Pokemon Secrets of the Jungle? When I first saw it I was like “YO IT’S THEM” haha
Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl
HGSS is still holding up as my all-time favorite Pokemon game. ...Ah, we’re talking about BDSP. As much flack at this game gets, I don’t really know what else could be done with it (aside from having Platinum’s post-game content; please give me the Battle Frontier back, I’m begging you GF, please, I’m dying over here). The Grand Underground is a vast improvement over the original, contests are a bit more fun (though part of me misses the stupid dress-up section), and I for one do not miss the original speed of the HP bars. :S
That being said, it’s lacking a bit of charm. And polish. As funny as all of the memes involving bugs and glitches are, a part of me kind of cringes seeing all of these huge problems present on the initial release copies of the game that required patching to fix.
Pokemon Wilds
This is actually a fangame, but I got really addicted to playing it for about two weeks. Best way I can describe it is “Minecraft (or Pixelmon would be more appropriate) combined with Pokemon Crystal.”
You get to wander around a vast map encountering wild Pokemon both in the overworld and in the tall grass as per usual, you can build structures, corral your Pokemon into pens, steal Pokemon eggs, explore dungeons like the Pokemon Mansion, etc. There’s a day/night system and the nighttime is actually pretty scary if you’re not expecting it to be.
It’s such a fun game and I absolutely loved playing it. I highly recommend trying it out if you can find it online.
Deltarune Chapter 2
I have had to re-type this review at least five times because every single time I’ve written it, I’ve written an entire novel about how much I love Spamton and the actual game review was like... 10% of the actual review. So tl;dr funny kromer man is my #1 husbando, I want to pay for his therapy, don’t @ me I already know V_V (He’s a good boy deep down, don’t give me that look ;~; )
In all seriousness, Toby and friends did an amazing job with this chapter. I enjoyed every single aspect of it and honestly I liked it better than Chapter 1. All of the characters were memorable (and creative), the music SLAPS, the pacing is great, the entire thing really just came together near-perfectly. I absolutely love things with this kind of aesthetic so I got invested in it more than the previous chapter, haha.
He got me to feel sorry for junk mail and advertising, what the hell Toby
Potassium
It Takes Two
Technically I haven’t beaten this game yet (my friend and I are playing it very slowly due to our schedules being different), but we’re about 85% done with it.
This game is a blast to play and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to sit and play something with a friend for a good chunk of time (our playthrough is on 14 hours so far but we get distracted by objects in the environment very easily haha; the game has a TON of little fun things to play around with).
The story is a tad bit serious (I’ve been referring to it as Divorce: The Game), but there is still quite a bit of humor. We both want to punt Dr. Hakim into orbit haha.
The other games I played this year either weren’t noteworthy enough to talk about (ie. very short itch.io games that I don’t have any real commentary for) or they’re games that I’ve already played before and am revisiting/still playing (ex. Pokemon Cafe Remix, ACNH, Stardew, etc.)
I’d say I was satisfied with this year. I know a lot of people weren’t, but it allowed me to get through a backlog of stuff I’ve been meaning to get through. A large portion of the year was spent watching Twitch vods so I got to experience a lot of new games through those.
Thanks for reading! I hope next year is just as good if not better.
